She’s a quiet, unassuming bookstore owner by day, but by night...

Kristen has a deadly secret—when she smells a vampire, she turns into Jai, a beauti-licious babe who makes vamps permanently dead. To a vamp, Jai is like ambrosia. They can’t resist her. She uses this attraction, plus her super strength and her trusty blade, Mr. Sticky, to end their undead lives. The thrill of wearing miniskirts without worrying about cellulite stifles any qualms Kristen might have about killing the undead. Being Jai is the most fun she has ever had—until they come up against the one vampire Jai can’t kill. If he and Jai have a history, as he claims, Jai can’t remember it...or him.

But when her work catches the attention of some old enemies—who won’t hesitate to destroy Kristen if it also means the end of Jai—this vampire may be their only hope. Can Kristen and Jai learn to tell the difference between good and evil in time to defeat Jai’s ancient nemesis? Or will being Jai’s hostess cost Kristen more than just a little sleep?

A Vampire Deadly Delight eBook Liv Rancourt

I thoroughly enjoyed this story! It was funny, vampy, cute, short, sweet and enjoyable. If you love vampire books with a bit of humor, then pick up this book!

The story follows Kristen - a dowdy bookstore owner whose flashy alter ego is Jai - a vampire slaying machine. Whenever Kristen smells a hint of vampire, she transforms into Jai, whose mission is to kill vampires. As Jai's memories return, she begins to question if all vampires should be killed. This sets up a battle for Jai with Kristen's life hanging in the balance. Who will win? Will it be Herbert (Jai's keeper), Shakespeare (Jai's love), or the Vampire Queen?

This was an easy read that flowed well. I had a hard time putting it down. It's a standalone story but I feel that it could have been left open for a sequel & I sure hope that is the case!

A Vampire Deadly Delight eBook Liv Rancourt Reviews

A Vampire's Deadly Delight by Liv Rancourt is a delightful paranormal romance. I found the book thoroughly enjoyable. The book has one heroine with two identities. Or should I say it has two heroines sharing the same body? Either way, the storyline is fresh and intriguing. The book is written in both third and first person, which although it's tricky to do, it is very well done. Our two heroines, Kristen and Jai, share Kristen's body as she is Jai's hostess--kind of a Clark Kent/Superman situation--and both of their POVs are in first person. But all the other POVs are in third person. I was impressed that while the publisher put Jai's and Kristen's POVs in different fonts to help the reader tell who was who, I could tell who was speaking from the voice of the character. It takes a good author to do that, and Rancourt appears to be a very good one.
This book had a good storyline with a plot and many twists that kept me reading but fair warning, this is just for adult readers only. There are many adult scenes and talks about such things that aren't appropriate for younger readers.
Honestly, though it had a solid storyline and characters, it didn't appeal to me all that much. Others might have enjoyed it and think it is a worthy read which is their opinion but mine is that I didn't enjoy it and it wasn't all that memorable to me.
This story has dark elements that made the book interesting a stubborn demon that can shape shift into different animals, an old vampire that gets an interest in the main character and of course the main character herself. Kristen is also a book lover that thinks she lives a boring life but when she obtains a kick butt alter ego called Jai things seem to turn interesting for her.
Jai is the ultimate vampire killer, using her dagger and seductive skills makes her a lethal weapon. Her advisor is the strange demon that appears to her as a spider at first and takes a liking in her best friend.
The action scenes were great and felt like watching an action movie because of the well described scenes. Once again, there were adult scenes that even made me blush at times so be sure to know that this isn't PG13 at all.
A review by Leah de Wet
While I am not generally a vampire book fan, I found this book really entertaining....the characters were well formed and likeable, and although I did not have much vampire experience, I found the story engrossing. Good read!
This book restored my faith in vampires. Not your typical girl comes to a new high school and meets this mysterious gorges guy and discovers he's a vamp, no. This is totally different and so unpredictable. I truly enjoyed reading it and was savouring every page. But all good things must come to an end and so did this book as much as I didn't want to finish reading it. Sigh.
What a wonderful novel. Kristen is more than the slightly dumpy bookstore owner that she appears; she's also Jai, a vampire-killer who is controlled by a demon. The vampires are interesting, and it's nice that we stay mostly in the human world rather than the vampiric world. If you are a paranormal fan, you'll love this take on vampires and the humans around them.
Liv Rancourt's A Vampire's Deadly Delight is a fun, sexy and smart read. Average bookstore owner, Kristen, shares her body with outgoing, sexy vampire killer, Jai. The two couldn't be more opposite, which provides us with many humorous and entertaining scenes.

A pet spider who talks, a weapon named Mr. Sticky, a best friend who learns Kristen's secret, and plenty of vampires, some good, some bad, round out the diverse cast of characters that take us on a journey of twists and turns.

Liv's sense of humor shines through her characters and it was a story I enjoyed and highly recommend.
Very enjoyable read; nothing too heavy or full of itself. I particularly enjoyed the warped sense of humor and wished it had stayed the focus of the story instead of ending with more romance/heat, but guess that is just me. Lots of fun!
