“Choco. Wait, could it be that Choco...?”

At that same time, the town of Alterna moves to retake the Deadhead Watching Keep held by orcs. Looking to earn some of the reward money, Haruhiro's party ends up joining their first raid alongside Renji and Choco.

Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash Volume 3 eBook Ao Jyumonji Eiri Shirai Sean McCann Reviews

This volume is continuation of the Anime with the same title. I was started reading the novel because of that. In this volume Haruhiro and his party continue their adventure. The new adventure that keep me reading non stop. The story is not cliche as many of "Other world" story. It has emotion in every part when Haruhiro tried his best to lead his party. Really love this story.
Another great book.

Haru and company are really starting to grow. I like how we got to see more Team Renji.

I'm starting to feel like the gap between their parties isn't very wide anymore.
After reading it in a day and being unable to stop muself from wanting more, there is a sad feeling after finding oit i will have to wait a few months to coninue reading. Deffinitely ending on a bit of a sickly stomach feeling... hope to continue reading this as soon as possible.
I enjoyed this volume of Grimgar as it does something that you didn't get until now, and that was interaction with another group. This book started off a bit slow like most of the grimgar series so far, but it was well warranted to adjust to what happens later in the book. This book showed different volunteer soldiers groups where each had something special to add to battle, and Haru's group is no exception. As far as combat and plot is concerned, this is my favorite book so far in the series.
It is such a refreshing change of pace to read an Isekai (trapped in a fantasy world) story that doesnt revilve around a harem. Such great writing and compelling characters. I love this series.

After we lost Monato I thought we were done with the tragedy aspect of this series. But like GRRM, Ao is not afraid to kill characters when it serves the plot and deepens the narrative.

Outstanding series. Really hope funimation and CR get their heads out of their asses and make some more seasons.
Is a good story and the end of this book is brilliant. But again, the author repeats stuff over and over. Some dialogues are pointless and doesn't add too much to the story. The editor needs to check carefully the translation, too many errors.
Things really ram up in intensity during this volume. The party members mainly focused on goblin slaying in the Old city of Damuro in volume 1 and killing kobalds in the Cyrene mines in volume 2 while growing as a party and overcoming the loss of comrades. However, volume 3 takes a dark turn when the party decides to participate in a raid on Deadhead Watching Keep, a stronghold of orcs.

Just as the events and battles that take place are jarring and abrupt, so too is the ending of volume 3. It is only a semi resolution leaving you wanting more. I can't say that this is truly a bad thing. It is endings like this that get me shaking with anticipation and wanting to immediately pick up the next volume in the series.
