A sight to see that raised my head.
She approached and held tightly to my waist.

Blackout
With two people ahead of her, Kayla stood in line, waiting for her turn to walk through the metal detector. A guard whom had befriended her boyfriend recognized her.
"Miss, I'm going to need you to step over to the side, please," he ordered Kayla.
Another guard keeping watch grabbed her arm and aided her against the wall. "What is this all about?" Kayla asked. "I didn't do anything wrong!"
The first guard put his hand on his taser and pointed his nightstick at her. "You're going to have to pipe down or I'll have you thrown out of here. You got that?" He pressed his forehead against hers then winked, letting her know everything was fine. Secretly, he turned off the handheld metal detector then rubbed her down with it. "She's clean," he assured the other guard.
The guard released her. "Who are you here to see?" he asked.
"Dingo," Kayla said.
The first guard put his nightstick on his side then turned on the handheld detector. "I'll take it from here," he told the guard. Putting the detector on the table, he looked at Kayla up and down. "Your boyfriend is in a special area away from the other inmates and their families. Follow me."
"Why, what did he do?"
"He didn't do anything."
"Then why is he away from--"
Frustrated, the guard shoved Kayla against the wall. "Look, I'm putting myself on the line for you and him, so shut up. I know what you're here for. Dingo and I have become really close friends since he's been here. He asked me to help him out, so I am."
They both calmed down and continued walking. "Okay, I'm sorry," Kayla apologized. "For the record, Dingo told me about you too. He mentioned a really close friend in his letters."
"I hope he didn't say too much. My job is on the line."
"No, he kept it vague."
They stopped at the entrance of the visitors’ room. "You can go in. He's sitting at the table in the back."
Kayla looked around. Other inmates were talking with family and friends. "I thought you said he was in a secluded area."
"This is a secluded area for trouble makers."
"I thought you said he didn't do anything wrong."
"He didn't." The guard and Dingo nodded at each other
